Machine 3: WinOxy: CNC Oxyfuel Cutting Machine

Best for: Thick mild steel plates from 6 mm to 350 mm, shipbuilding, bridge fabrication, heavy structural steel.

Price range: Rs 6 lakh to Rs 30 lakh depending on torch count and bed size.

What It Is

The WinOxy is Winarc’s CNC oxyfuel cutting machine, purpose-built for heavy plate steel fabrication. It is the CNC machine for steel fabrication when the material is thick mild steel and operating cost matters more than cutting speed.

Oxyfuel cutting uses a combination of oxygen and fuel gas to preheat mild steel to its ignition temperature, then directs a high-pressure oxygen jet that oxidises the metal rapidly. The process is chemically limited to mild steel and low-alloy carbon steels, but within that material range it cuts from 6 mm all the way to 350 mm at a fraction of the operating cost of plasma on equivalent thicknesses.

Why It Stands Out

No other CNC machine for steel fabrication matches the WinOxy’s operating economy on thick mild steel plate. Above 50 mm, plasma operating cost rises sharply. Fiber laser becomes impractical. The WinOxy cuts 100 mm mild steel at a running cost approximately 40 to 60% lower than plasma on the same material. For shipyards, bridge fabricators, and pressure vessel manufacturers cutting hundreds of tonnes of thick plate per month, this cost difference is decisive.

The WinOxy is the most specialised machine in our range and the most decisive investment for the right buyer. If you are a shipyard, bridge contractor, or pressure vessel manufacturer cutting thick mild steel every day, the WinOxy’s operating cost advantage pays back the machine investment faster than almost any other capital purchase you can make. Machine 4: WinTube: CNC Tube Laser Cutting Machine

Best for: Round tubes, square tubes, I-beams, C-channels, and structural profiles.

What It Is

The WinTube is Winarc’s CNC tube laser cutting machine and the most specialised CNC machine for steel fabrication in this guide. How to Choose the Right CNC Machine for Steel Fabrication

After manufacturing and supplying CNC machines for steel fabrication across India since 2018, I have developed a simple decision framework that I use with every prospective customer.

Step 1: Define your primary material and thickness. This is the most important step when evaluating CNC machines for steel fabrication. If you cut mainly mild steel above 50 mm, choose WinOxy. Between 25 mm and 50 mm, choose WinFire. Under 25 mm across mixed metals, choose WinMaster. If you cut structural profiles and tubes as a significant proportion of your work, WinTube or WinHybrid deserves serious consideration.

Step 2: Assess your edge quality requirement. Different CNC machines for steel fabrication produce different edge quality levels. Parts going directly to precision assembly need laser accuracy.
