ABOUT HIGHTEMP FURNACES LIMITED
Hightemp Furnaces Limited is one of India’s best known manufacturers of industrial heat treatment furnaces, and operates what it describes as the largest commercial heat treatment facility in the country. Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Bengaluru’s Peenya Industrial Area, the company is now a subsidiary of Dowa Thermotech Co. Ltd, Japan, and runs a 100,000 sq. ft furnace manufacturing plant alongside heat treatment divisions spread across Bengaluru, Nelamangala, Pune, Chennai, and Gurugram.
The company builds atmospheric heat treatment furnace systems and delivers commercial heat treatment services including carburising, carbonitriding, normalising, and through hardening, serving a client base of Indian and multinational manufacturers across the automotive, bearings, and general engineering sectors.
THE REQUIREMENT
Hightemp Furnaces builds large industrial heat treatment furnaces and heat-treats components at scale from its Bengaluru plant, and furnace fabrication depends on a steady supply of accurately cut mild steel plate and sheet for casings, shells, doors, duct sections, and structural mounts. Many of these panels run to large single-piece dimensions, and consistent edge quality on thicker plate has a direct bearing on fit-up during welding and assembly downstream.
As the company scaled its manufacturing and heat treatment capacity across its facilities, its existing cutting setup was becoming a bottleneck: large panels often needed to be pieced together from smaller cut sections, and cut edges required additional grinding before they were weld-ready. Hightemp needed a single machine that could process full-size sheets in one pass, hold tolerance on thicker mild steel, and cut clean enough to reduce the manual finishing work between cutting and fabrication.
THE WINARC SOLUTION

- Rated to cut mild steel up to 25mm thick, matching the heavier plate used in furnace shells and structural components

RESULTS & IMPACT
With the WinChamp 6525 in place, Hightemp Furnaces is positioned to cut full-size furnace panels in a single pass instead of piecing together smaller sections, cutting down on secondary joining and rework. The machine’s auto-focus head and 25mm mild steel capacity are expected to hold cleaner edges on heavier plate, reducing the grinding and finishing work between cutting and welding. The larger bed and nesting software also give the fabrication team more flexibility to plan cutting runs around material usage rather than machine size.
